Hey There Folks! From Salt Fish, to the VA Fish and Game, from NASA to Gnomes, from Re-enactors to Robots, theres a lot happening this year at the 11th Annual Hartwood Days Festival. Held on PATRIOTS
DAY
in the Historic District of Hartwood, along the Civil War Trail, the
Hartood Days 2010 Festival will offer Youth, Families & anyone attending
(espcially Scouts) many opportunities to have fun and learn something
new (or maybe something old). Kicking off the Festival is the Traditional Salt Fish Breakfast, at 7:00 a.m. at the Sanctuary of Hartwood Presbyterian Church. If you havent tried this, you don't kow what you're missing!
There will also be a Living History area, where you can take a walk through time! The Stewart Jones Living History Area (a historic nature conservancy property), across the street from the Historic Hartwood Presbyterian Church, will hold camps camps covering several different era's. Some you probably wouldn't expect to see here in VA!!!!! Talk to a Roman Soldier, or ask a Medieval Knight what they eat, or see what German SS soldiers had in their camp. You'll be able to see how they lived and worked, but best of all, you'll be able to talk to the Living Historians! But be careful, you never know when a Skirmish might pop up.
BADGES,
BELTLOOPS & PINS? Oh My! |
MUCH THANKS

The planning committee for Hartwood Days is working on getting some new events to make this 10th anniversary event something special. You can check out some of those coming on the Events Page. If you know of something or someone who should really be on the field, ask 'em to check out our Vendor page. |
